The Debut Album

Nasgino Inage Nidayulenvi (It Started in the Woods), the debut album from twenty-one-year-old Cherokee singer/songwriter Agalisiga “The Chuj” Mackey, is available on all streaming platforms this Friday, October 18. The record is a collection of nine original tunes and two classic country and folk covers, all performed entirely in the Cherokee language. Vinyl and CD versions of the release, along with a lyric booklet, are available through the nonprofit Horton Records and will also be on sale Saturday, October 19 at Mackey’s album release show with Cherokee singer songwriter, Kalyn Fay, at Tulsa’s St. Cecilia’s Listening Room.
